One method of checking that the id file is in the user's roaming personal address book is to use the utility notespeek (from the Lotus Sandbox). Open the DB with Notespeek then "Profiles" --> "roaminguserid" --> $File.
Examing the file Object to see the attribute "file-name" has the value "UserID".
Incidentally, beware if you are using Single Sign on and synchronising Windows and Notes passwords. You get a mess with Roaming Users unless they always change their passwords in Notes (NOT Windows).
You also get a mess if a user has previously used a PC and his ID File is still there from his previous visit and he has changed his password in the meantime. He is then asked for his old password.
Check out the new ID Vault feature of Domino 8.5+ . It may be better for your needs.
